The Gambia Holds Validation of Draft Report on Global Compact for Migration

National stakeholders, with support from the UN Network on Migration, led by IOM, OHCHR and UNICEF, gathered to validate the draft voluntary national review report of The Gambia's progress in implementing the Global Compact for Migration (GCM)'s 23 objectives. Tracking the country's progress is a vital step in unleashing the benefits of well-managed migration, also providing stakeholders an opportunity to reassess their priorities among the objectives.

The national review process will feed into the first ECOWAS sub-regional review, the continental review process for Africa, and then the global review in 2022.
