Men are no doubt valuable allies in ending Gender Based Violence against women and girls
This year WFP Gambia male colleagues decided to make their voices heard for an end to all forms of violations. Through their campaign against GBV they called on other men to accept women as equals. They participated in various activities to mark the 16 days of activism pledging and sending their messages through a video campaign.
Led by the WFP Country Director Mr. Yasuhiro Tsumura, the men added that they do not just want to change the narrative but demand holistic change where women can transform exponentially through opportunities that men always take for granted. The messages have been shared on social media beyond The Gambian borders.
“As main perpetrators of violence against women, involving men can improve the lives of men by freeing them from the harmful and limiting aspects of masculinities” says Adama Daffeh, WFP IT Software Developer.
