Launch of Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) Tool Enhances Migration Data

Collecting accurate data on migration is vital to informing policies and interventions, uncovering protection needs and fighting misinformation.
With the Gambia Bureau of Statistics, IOM launched the Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM) tool in the country. The tool will provide a better understanding of mobility patterns, estimating the movement of migrants in four transit areas to be specified. It is designed to regularly and systematically capture, process and disseminate information to provide a better understanding of the movements and evolving needs of displaced populations, whether on site or en route.
