The Gambia Reviews Progress in Implementing the Global Compact for Migration

The Government of The Gambia, with support from the UN Network on Migration led by IOM, OHCHR and UNICEF, gathered to launch the review process of The Gambia's progress in implementing the Global Compact for Migration (GCM). Tracking the country's progress is a vital step in unleashing the benefits of well-managed migration, and in providing stakeholders an opportunity to reassess their priorities among the GCM’s 23 objectives.

The national review process will feed into the first ECOWAS sub-regional review, which will then feed into the continental review process for Africa, scheduled for early 2021. The inputs collected at the Africa review will, in turn, feed into the global review process in 2022.
